About Joe and Mary
JOSIAH BEER • I am a recently retired (June of 2007) teacher of English, journalism, and photography, who has set about to make a new patchwork career of several hobbies (i.e. photography, watercolor painting, drawing, and the making of note cards).
All my works (paintings, photographs, note cards and prints) are for sale at the Walpole Artisans's Co-operative, an organization of which I am a member. We are located right in Fountain Square, 52 Main Street, Walpole, NH.
For art events, I regularly participate in the Walpole Artisans Tour, Art in the Park in Keene, NH and in the Saxtons River Art Guild's Art Show in October in the Walpole Town Hall.
Having taken the photographs for the Walpole Historical Society's recent calendars (2004 - 2009), I have started my own set of paintings and drawings of some of the historic sights in Walpole. I have also painted a few street scenes of some of the downtown hangouts.
Any of the works can be purchased on-line through this site.
MARY BEER – Mary is recently retired (2011) from teaching reading with young children. She is now a full-fledged partner in Josiah's Art, a position for which there are many rewards, though none of them monetary. At our art shows, Mary dresses things up, which Joe isn't very good at. Kayaking, snowshoeing, and traveling with family are some of Mary's favorite activities.
My support team also includes three more Beers: Josh, Jesse and Zach, a teacher, a banker, and a psychology major doing graduate work at Ruhr University in Bochum,Germany. Er arbeitet mit Ratten und Måusen, wenn auch meist Måuse. Ja.
We hope you enjoy Josiah's Art, both the site and the works.
Thank you for your interest.
